§ 02 — HOW OUTRUN WORKS

Help in the moment. The fix right after.

A quick fix vanishes the second the call ends. Outrun does the opposite — it rehearses you, records your own sessions, shows you where you were weak, and turns it into practice. So the help makes you better, not dependent.

01.Install Outrun.
02.Add your AI and transcription keys (you use your own — we never proxy them).
03.Download the local model for your Library (optional)
04.Get live notes — and the teardown after.
STEP 01

Recon.

Before you join the call, Outrun does the homework — pulling together what's publicly known about the company, the people, and what's at stake into a brief you can actually use. You walk in knowing the context and the questions that matter, not going in cold.

Open-source brief assembled
STEP 02

Capture.

With one hotkey, Outrun rides along in your own meetings — keeping live notes, surfacing the framework or the number you blanked on, and recording the whole session for you. Nothing is lost to "I think it went okay."

Recording on-device
STEP 03

Diagnose.

Outrun replays the session and names the gaps: the answer that rambled, the framework you missed, the moment the room lost interest. Stage by stage, you finally get the feedback the other side will never give you.

Reviewing the tape
STEP 04

Fix.

Targeted reps, not random prep. Outrun builds practice from your real gaps — the weak stage, the missed framework — so prep time lands where it actually moves the deal.

§ 02-B — SITUATION ASSESSMENT

Every high-stakes conversation has a better-prepared side. Usually it isn't yours.

Nothing personal, and no conspiracy — the other side is simply better equipped. Below: what they bring, and what you can put against it.

ON THEIR SIDEON YOURS
01

A script for the conversation and a list of questions, written in advance.

Preparation on the specific company, role and person — before you join the call.

02

Someone who has run this meeting forty times. You, once this year.

The exact answer at the exact moment the question lands.

03

A recording, a transcript and a debrief after the meeting ends.

Your own recording and your own debrief — local, on your device.

04

A formal scorecard you will never be shown.

A post-call report: where you slipped, and what to fix before the next one.

Nothing on the left is against the rules. That is the hard part: what you are up against is not bad intent, it is a well-run process.

§ 03 — ON THE RECORD

This isn't a shortcut. It's the practice you were never allowed.

A shortcut gets you through one conversation and leaves you just as unprepared for the next. Outrun does the opposite: it finds what's actually weak and makes it strong. The point was never to fake one room — it's to make you the person who doesn't have to.

FIND IT. KEEP IT.

Most tools clock out the moment the call ends. Real help follows you into the job — the first meetings, the first review, the moments where everyone assumes you already know. Outrun is built for both halves.

FIND IT

Diagnose your funnel, fix the weak stages, and walk into every high-stakes conversation knowing what's coming. From the first touch to the win.

KEEP IT

Your first months decide everything. Outrun stays with you into the role — meetings, 1-on-1s, reviews — surfacing context when you need it and helping you ramp faster than anyone expects.

§ 04-A — WHAT YOUR MONEY ACTUALLY BUYS

You're not buying software. You're buying whichever model answers for you.

This is how Outrun compares with the all-inclusive tools you're most likely weighing it against — the ones that bundle the AI into a flat monthly fee. Such a tool pays for your tokens out of its own margin, and that arithmetic has exactly one outcome: the cheaper the model it runs, the more it keeps — and you never find out which one answered.

A TYPICAL ALL-INCLUSIVE TOOLOUTRUN
01

Five to seven times the monthly price of Outrun, flat.

$19–39 a month for the app. That's the whole subscription.

02

The model is picked for you — typically a mini-class one, chosen to protect a margin you never see.

Any model you want. Your key, your account, your call.

03

Flagship models gated behind annual prepayment.

Flagship from the first session, on every tier.

04

Sessions capped per month. Run out and you wait.

No session caps. No token caps. No feature locks.

05

Inference bundled in, with the markup invisible.

~$0.5–2 per full cycle, paid straight to the provider at cost.

$19 for Outrun plus about $2 of Opus is $21 a month. The gap in what answers you at the moment that decides the conversation is not proportional to the gap on the invoice.

One full cycle = preparation, the live call, and the post-call teardown. Cost measured on Claude Sonnet; you pay the provider directly, at their published rate, with nothing added by us. The left-hand column describes the common all-inclusive model as published by those tools in August 2026 — pricing and model tiers there change often, so check the current terms before you decide.

EYES ONLY

Still on the fence?

We get it — letting software sit in on your conversations is a leap of trust. So it stays on your side: the trial runs entirely on-device, your data never leaves your machine. Try it, break it, uninstall if it's not for you.

Start the trial
Yes. Outrun is a prep, live-notes, and coaching tool you run on your own conversations — like having a sharp colleague take notes and debrief you after. It finds your gaps and helps you close them so you perform on your own. Use it on calls you're part of, and follow your platform's and employer's rules on recording and disclosure. One line we draw explicitly: exams. If you have accepted a proctored rule set that forbids outside help — an academic exam, a certification test — Outrun is not for that. It checks what kind of session it is when the context is set, and keeps checking while the session runs; when it recognises an examination, it stops assisting. The distinction isn't our opinion about what's fair. It's whether you personally agreed to a rule that says no assistance. In an interview or a sales call, nobody signed that agreement — while the other side runs ATS filters, scoring rubrics, and comparison sheets of its own.
Prep tools hand you generic questions. Outrun rehearses you on the questions you'll actually face, records your real practice sessions, names your actual weak stages, and builds reps from your gaps. It's the difference between reading a textbook and reviewing the game tape.
Probably more than anything you've tried — because it's the first thing that tells you why. Silence isn't feedback. Outrun turns your practice rounds and recorded sessions into the feedback the system refuses to give you, so you fix the real problem instead of resending the same resume.
They stay on your device. Think about what's actually in them — your salary numbers, your deal terms, the moment you fumbled an answer. That's some of the most sensitive material you own, and most tools route exactly that through their own cloud in order to process it. Outrun doesn't: your recordings and session history live in local storage on your machine. We hold no copy and have no way to obtain one, and nothing is sold or used to train models. Delete a session and it's gone from your machine — there was never a copy on our side to outlive it.
Where the audio actually goes, in detail
You provide the context — company, role, deal, or counterpart — and Outrun generates the questions, objections, and scenarios most likely to come up. For job interviews it adapts to seniority and JD. For sales calls it maps to your ICP and common objections. For negotiations it builds around your BATNA and anchors. It feels less like generic prep and more like a dress rehearsal for the actual conversation.
Yes — because nothing passes through our servers. There is no Outrun cloud in the path: your audio goes straight to the transcription provider you configured, and your transcript goes straight to the model provider you chose — your keys, your accounts, your terms with them. Recordings, CV data, insights, and session history stay on your device and are never uploaded anywhere. We're not a middleman, so there's nothing on our side to leak, to sell, or to hand over.
Outrun works alongside the meeting tools you already use — Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Skype, and Amazon Chime — for live transcription and notes during your own calls. It captures the audio playing on your computer rather than plugging into each app, so it isn't tied to any one platform. Even if your meeting tool isn't on the list, it'll almost certainly work.
Anyone who needs to perform well in a high-stakes conversation. Job seekers preparing for interviews. Sales reps on discovery and closing calls. Account executives running QBRs and demos. Negotiators handling compensation or contracts. If the outcome of a conversation matters, Outrun helps you prepare for it, perform in it, and learn from it.
Outrun uses your own API keys for both AI and transcription — you pay providers directly at their published rates, with no markup and no hidden fees. A full cycle of prep, live call, and post-call analysis typically costs $0.5–2 on Claude Sonnet. The Outrun app itself has a flat subscription with no usage limits, no token caps, and no tiered feature locks.
Three reasons, in order of how much they matter. • Speed — we don't proxy your LLM or STT calls. Your keys connect straight to the providers, with no extra hop in the middle of a live conversation. • The model is yours to pick — you're not limited to whatever someone else's margin allows. Flagship from the first session, on every tier. • Cost at source — you pay the providers their published rate, with nothing added by us. A full cycle of prep, live call, and teardown typically runs ~$0.5–2. Setup takes a few minutes, and there's a step-by-step guide with screenshots.
What your own key buys you
Because someone has to pay for the tokens, and in that model it's the vendor — out of its own margin. That creates a permanent incentive: run the cheapest model that still looks acceptable, and cap how much you use it. You pay a premium price and have no way to see which model actually answered you. With your own key that conflict doesn't exist. You choose the model, you pay the provider directly, and there's no ceiling for us to enforce. We provide the architecture; you bring the engine. The full breakdown is in "What your money actually buys" above.
